Good grief! the seat on my newly aquired 1150 GS is a right royal pain the the backside to get off!
When I first bought it, I removed the rear seat and had a lovely time struggling to remove the rider seat, but it did come off in the end. I smeared a small amount of oil on the metal frame attached to the bottom of the seat hoping it might help me remove it in future.....I was WRONG!
Came to get the seat off today (two days later) and will it budge? ...... NO!
I've tride thumping, pulling, lifting putting all my strengh into it but it will NOT come off. Am I missing something? ( I'm pulling it backwards, as if clipped into place forwards, I'm doing that right aren't I?...sorry, i'm doubting my sanity now!)
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Simon

I'm brand new to GS1150 too, and like you I was struggling with the front seat removal.
Just to make sure: are you turning the key in order to remove the front seat too?

I turn the key and removed the back seat, then I was trying to remove the front one, w/o turning the key. Took me a while until I realized that.

Then, turn the key with your right hand and with your left one, pull from the front, towards the back. The seat should pop-up.
