Just to update you that the Portuguese site is still run by the same people but it is now www.bmwcklt.com/
It also has Spanish and English forums.

With the US Dollar all time low, I would expect less Americans visiting Europe this year. On the other hand, there are more Europeans visiting US. I was in Garmish Germany last summer for BMW Motorrad Days. I did not attempt to buy anything other than event merchandise:-)

I'm from Portugal and I don't know the "comunidadek1200lt.com". But if you want a nice forum from the Portuguese community of beemers, you should visit the forum I belong, and it's this one:

Great number of members speak English and we are very friendly to each others.
Every months we have a dinner at the same time on Lisbon and Porto, the biggest cities of our small country.
