I'll be in the UK this week, and most likely staying with friends in Slough Saturday evening.
Anyone want to get together for a pint on Saturday afternoon? Maybe somewhere on the west side that's easy for folks to find? Should be mostly dry and in the low teens.
I should have email access once I get to my hotel Wednesday afternoon, so I'll check back then.

I'm in.
I'll be able to confirm it Wednesday Evening. I'm off the road at the moment so it'll have to be public transport. Let me know exactly where when you arrive. I don't know the area much so I can't recommend anywhere.

An 800 mile round trip for a half pimt of warm english beer in in Sluff? Nah I think I will stay at home and watch the England cricketers get beaten by the Aussies ;-))
Thanks for the offer.

Ken, are you staying down south all week, or going any further north?

Thanks for the offer. Not only that...but you'd be drinking it with Ken! :v: More of his tales of international travel and how far and fast he did it. (Hhmmn... I wonder how long it took him to RIDE to the UK?!)

Sure....let me know when and where. I've recently relocated here from the Chicago area and am living in Buckinghamshire....just North of Slough. I can probably meet as long as it's in the afternoon, as I have committments Saturday evening.
Cheers, Toolman (John)

I don't know of many local places, so I thought maybe someone could suggest somewhere that's easy for all to get to. Either on the west side or inside the M25 if that works best for all. I have a rental car with GPS, and I'm familiar with the Tube so directions are easy if anyone knows of a decent pub. Or I could ask my friends in Slough.
Unfortunately, this trip got cut short and organized very last-minute. I'd like to head further north, but don't have the time this trip (sorry Graham and Woolly). But Dayle and I will be back in the spring, and will have more time to travel around then.

Hi,
sorry, I'd have loved too, but no internet yesterday meant that SWMBO has already arranged my whole weekends activities. At least it's not replacing toilets, I did that last week! Poo!
But will keep eyes peeled for the trip in the spring.

Hi John & Mark. Check your PMs. It looks like Denham will be a good meeting place for all. I suggest the Green Man pub, on Village Road, at 2 p.m. (see where it's marked Pubs on the map below.)
