Sometime in the next 2 weeks I am going to start on my 24k servicing.
One of the things I am going to do is replace my quick disconnects with metal ones.
What is the best/safest/correct way to remove the old quick disconnects and install the new ones.
I like Grif's (?) idea of offsetting male/female ont he 2 lines so they can't possibly get confused, so I'll do that - with your help...
Thanks in advance guys...

yup.. do them one at a time.. the "tank" side should have one of each of the connector types, the matching ones on the bike side.

Just replaced one of the fittings yesterday due to a leak on the male side. First I used a fuel line clamp so I didn't have to remove the tank and flip it up to avoid spilling gas all over the place. Then I grabbed a small flat bladed screw driver and preyed open the clamp the BMW uses taking care not to cut the fuel line. The hard part was pulling off the old fitting due to the excellent barbs molded into the fitting. Grabbed hold of the fuel line with one hand and used a pair of pliers to pull and wiggle the old fitting off. Going back together was a piece of cake. Used regular hose clamps except I had the nice ones with the rolled edges that do not cut into the hose once tightened. And thats my story and I'm sticking too it.........

Thanks guys... sounds fairly straight forward... I just didn't want to get things in a million parts and then get a surprise 'cause I forgot to have a part/tool etc...

Don't ask how I know, OK!:o (fortunately mine was the kind you can still install AFTER, but I felt a leetle stoopid:rolleyes: )
