Ordered a brand new 2007 GSA today. It should be here in the next 8 weeks. A previous order cancelled, allowing me to move up on the list. I have decided to hang on to my LT and ride both. I think I have the best of both worlds!!! Can't wait.

It looks like my bike will arrive in early December. There is already 6 inches of snow on the ground, so the bike might have to sit in the garage until spring. I hope you at least get a chance to ride yours. Mine is the Arctic Metallic which I hear is the fastest color. Ron

oh man that bites having to wait till spring, yes I will be able to ride mine living in north georgia, we get very little snow here and little ice.
I was told the Arctic metallic was fast but not fast enough and the radar really picks it up well with the metal flakes in it. The white is more flat and absorbs the radar some equaling less speeding tickets. (how was that for a bunch of bs <g>)
ya know you could have your bike delivered south for the winter and do some riding

TomHey Ron, If you'd like me to garage your new GSA for the winter, something could be arranged! :) You could fly down for an occasional ride (average mid 40's (F) daytime temps throughout the winter). I could keep the engine warm and the bike sparkin.
What did you say? Hmmm, I didn't think so.

wouldn't that depend on the tires?

Having my bike shipped south and riding it for a week or so in warm weather actually sounds like a great idea. Up here in Alberta, we typically get about four months or more when you can't ride because of snow and ice. I was thinking that maybe Phoenix would be a good place to ship it. From there I could ride to Sedona and out into the Painted Desert. Any other suggestions!

If it's dead winter, I'd head south through Tucson, Las Cruces, through the Texas Hill country and to South Paudre Island (ride the beach!!!).

Thanks John! I am going to look that trip up on a map. How long do you think it would take if I was doing 500 miles a day? Ron

If you do come down this way, I get my new GS (not A) this afternoon. I love riding the Hill country, if you would like some company for part of your trip.

When my bike actually lands on my doorstep I would like to take you up on your offer. Riding down south when it is -30 up here doesn't sound like much of a decision does it. Ron

Thanks John! I am going to look that trip up on a map. How long do you think it would take if I was doing 500 miles a day? Ron... it would be better if you could take a detour through Carlsbad Caverns (without the GSA;) -- you'll scare the bats), visit San Antonio if you haven't been there, and find some dirt trails, etc...
If you decide to visit ABQ (big detour), I'll join your for a ride and a meal. We have great New Mexican food and a great tram ride to the top of Sandia Mountain (the longest non-stop tram in the world).
Here's a route as a start, but do get other input! Especially on which state roads to do on a GSA.

I got the GS but I have only been able to put about 100 miles on it so far. And it has been cold here (50's) I guess you wouldn't consider that cold. I should be able to put a few miles on it this weekend, so it will be ready for it's 600 mile checkup next week, then I can take it down to the hill country or up to Oklahoma for some fun. :)

dang I wish I were that far west! I'm in the southeast
(Dahlonega Georgia to be exact), I would love to set up a trade off for shipping, pickup and storage with someone in the far north west of North America. We want to spend some time from Alaska down through the yukon as far south as red deer and someplace with glaciers in Canada (I forget the name right now) it might be south or south east of red deer area?.
Anyhow we will have to ship the bike/s out there or eat up
the vacation time getting there and back, ya know even HARD slabbing it, we will eat up 3 days each way of vacation time loosing 6 days of time up there.
(I know i know, I always said trailers are for boats, well I sometimes tell fibs<grin>)

Hi Tom! I am 90 miles north of Red Deer. When I get my bike maybe we can explore the idea of a swap a little further. If you need any info on where to ride up here, let me know. I have taken my LT on every road immaginable up here. Ron

I guess I just got lucky. I just happened to ride by my closest dealer (am new to the NE) and he had one on the floor. Needless to say I jumped at it. Sorry to hear about all the waiting. I feel just about spoiled with my LT and GSA. I remember something about Men and Boys and price of their toys... LOL. I have to flip a coin now to see which to ride.

shoot I don't mind waiting, it's been pretty fun actually, you would have to know my dealer owner though to understand, he is a hoot. I also wanted White and the alarm, so i orded it or i could have had one sooner.
now what to do with my K12LT?!? I know I will keep it until my Pan is done or at least through this winter (brrrrrrrr) giving me some time to get used to riding in cold wether without heated seats<g> have fun with it! maybe for the next STC in th eSE I will no more of the off road trails and be able to give a decent off road tour or at least decent maps of them

I have decided to keep my LT considering that I can probably get no more than $6000 for it. Last fall I put on a set of Ohlins, a Rhinewest Chip, Remus Exhaust, J-Pegs and a new Cee Baileys windshield. I just don't want to give it away. With the GSA soon to be in the stable, I will have a swiss army knife bike and a luxury tourer.

I've had that conversation with myself a dozen times now, I would have to take everything off the bike keep what I can use and sell off the rest.
Then take find someone that wants a bike with 134k miles or so on it.
So for now I will have 3 insured bikes .

I look at it as having a luxury tourer in my stable that virtually costs me nothing other than insurance. The GSA is not something my wife plans to spend alot of time on, so having a cushy ride is important unless I want to ride by myself.

That is a good way to look at it, the only real saving I would have wouuld be insurance, and if it looks like our move is permanant I will insure it up here which is cheaper than FL insurance. besides this having vehicles insured and tagged in two states is a pain in the rear.
