We had a fun trip outa Austin on Sat. Oct 7th. Took 71N. threw LLano,Brady,San Angelo and Big Spring. 87 to Brownfield This is where we made our mistake, 380W to Roswell NM a long straight rode lotsa truckers and wind blew me all over the road. Hit Roswell around 2:30 for lunch then off we go. From there it's 285N to Vaughn Just north of Vaughn the rain starts. No big deal been in rain before suit up and off we go to Clines Corner.40W into Alburqueque still raining Running 40 into ALb. felt like being in a pinball machine lota consturtion with concrete walls and lotsa 18 wheelers to bounce off of :p Head north on 25 to Rio Rancho off the bike at 8:30 pm 752 miles was a good first day.

The next 2 days it rain off and on the Balloon Fiesta was postponed. So not much to talk about here :p Sammie got a lil Shopping in with help of a rental car.

Now it's Tuesday sun is out take the car back and off to Santa Fe with a stop by Sandia BMW of Alb. Low and behold a Sales rep. see my HCBMW rides "T" shirt and asks about Lonestar BMW seems he grew up in Buda (small world) they tell us about a nice lil road to Santa Fe county road 14 . they were right felt like I was back in the hill country nice twisties.
Spent the day shopping in Santa Fe. Sammie was in paradise.

WE had planed to head north on Wendsday but the weather turn bad so we went south to Ruidoso. But first 'The Balloon Fiesta" was calling us. what a breath taking sight over 600 balloons in the sky ( pics to follow)

South on 25 to Socorro then back on 380W again. This part was much better the it was east of Roswell. Started off straight and boring then we hit the mountians, Long sweeping turns for miles just what I needing to wake up. Threw Carrizozo to county road 37 south. now the real fun began. tight hairpin turns,up intothe Sierra Blonca Mtn.We hit around 10,000 ft. Lola runnung her best ever. Into Ruidoso for the night would have like to do more but the lil town rolls up sidewalks at 5:00 :D

Thruesday morning was the coldest day so far 37 at 7:00am by 9:00 it was already 60 so back to the "Twisties" On our was to Lincoln NM Home of " Billy the Kid" nice mountain roads again . The town of Lincoln was just as it was 150 years ago like stepping back in time.A lillte sight seeing of back on the road out goal is to make it to Big Spring .

Good roads ahead we make it in pleanty on time. one more day behind us.
Friday we set out for home a stop in Brady at the " Hard 8" for somw "Q" a 1 1/2 hour wait to eat no thank you !! Coppers in LLano is calling me there the wait is 2 hours. Dang "Q" is popular in Tejas :rotf: We make it home by 3:00 Friday afternoon a lil tired but was pleased with our trip. This was our first of many lomg trips on the LT and loved every minute of it. now here are some pics

Hey Steve, we used to live in Albuquacky, and I worked a few blocks from the baloon park. Awesome pics. The only question that needs asking, "how much green chile did you eat?"
