I do have the BMW Comm III on my 2002 LTE and it works great.
Now I'm thinking about buying a second byke and it will need a comm system.
I like Autocom but I'm concern about how the interface will work for the cables.
I want to use the same helmets/speakers on both bikes.
I do have that middle cable on the LT. can I have a middle cable for the autocom and connect on the same short cable on the helmet and w/o any adapter?

Autocom and BMW middle cables are different connectors.

The ComSystem on your LT is made by J&M (http://www.jmcorp.com/). They also make generic intercom systems. Maybe one of those would work with your existing headsets? I'd contact J&M and ask what their options are.

Anwsering my own question:

I called Autocom, explain they that I have a BMWJ&M on one bike and want Autocom on the second bike. Their 'kindle and smar' response was that
Autocom: "Is very easy to remove the BMW Comm3 from your current bike and then install an Autocom on both"
Me: "But can I use the same sets of speakers and mics and helmet cables?"
Autocom: "No, you have to buy Autocom speakers and mics and cables, since they don't match with BMW Comm3"
Me: "But that would be a very expensive solution expecially if you consider that I already have one comm system and two helmet set."
Autocom: "But you will have a much better system".
...

I email John at J&M (a BMW rider) and explain the problem. In less then 5 minutes he reply with the solution: The new Integratr IV, ($160) with the opition to be powered by the bike and not batteries ($39) and I can use all my cables for FRS, CB, Cell Phone and helmets.
Looks like that will be my solution.
