Italy in 2007

Wife & I would like to tour parts of central Italy next year.

Any suggestions?
1- Where to go
2- Where to stay- prefer a central point each night
3- where to rent a good bike for two up- big people.

Your suggestions greatly appreciated.

Our big trip next spring is to get a third continent in - Aisia. Plan at the mo. is from UK to Holland, down to Northern Italy, then down to Brindezi, ferry to Patras, through northern Greece to Turkey, then one of the little ferries over the Bosphorous to AISIA (and hopefully back again) (I've worked in Istanbul, and the traffic is worse than Seoul, N. Korea - It would be nice to drive over one of the bridges, but NO WAY on a bike.)

When you thinkin bout goin - could be a blast to meet up in Italy.

We are thinking about June-July.

Would like to get somewhere in central Italy- Rome- Milan- Florence so we can go North some days and South some others. Plan to stay a week.

Need to rent a bike for two up. At this time, we own a LT and GSA. Wife finds the GS a little cramped for her legs.

We would rather get cool weather than hot. We get plenty of HOT here.
