Well, it seems there's gonna be an airshow at the New Braunfels Airport (where else would one be held at? duh.) Saturday, October 21st. Guess where I'm gonna be after the RTE?

The awfishul blurb:
The New Braunfels Airport is located 4 miles east of New Braunfels in Comal County, Texas. New Braunfels is a town of roughly 40,000 people, while Comal County has about 80,000 people. To get to the airport, take Texas state highway 46 east out of New Braunfels for about 3 miles. Leave highway 46 on FM 758 (at Clear Creek Springs) and go for about 2.5 miles. Exit left onto the Entrance Drive for the airport (a national weather station is at the corner of FM 758 and Entrance Drive). The airport is about 1/3 mile down the road to the left. For those of you with GPS systems, the airport is located at 29° 14' 12.200" N Latitude, 98° 2' 32.000" W Longitude.
But, I know a purdy kewl back way. Remember 30-35 years ago when FM 3009 was barely a two lane, unmarked road?

Roger that - thankee. I Google Earthed it and there it is!! Damn, the thang is huge. Reckon we could hold drags out there!!! ;)
I may try to keep up with ya to the aeroporto Satiday, provided you're still in break-in mode on the new GT. You git that thang airborne and I'm goin' home instead!!
BTW - Google Earthed your casa. When you gonna blacktop your driveway?!?! Oh wait - you did already. Guess they'll need to do another flyover purdy soon. Sandy's greenhouse mansion isn't built yet either - you better git with it, cuz winters acoming!!

They will be running drags out there. From our local newspaper: "Come out early to see exotic cars run flat out on the runway"
Also, A-10 Warthog, P-51 Mustang (one of my fav's along with the Corsair), wing walking, helicopter rides, T-6, U.S. Aerobatic Team Members, Flash Fire Jet Truck, T-28, RC Models, B-37, B-1 Bomber Fly-by.
They're really expanding that airport, have a new control tower thanks to classes by Silver State Helichopters. They teach chopper mechanics, air controller classes, etc. out there now.
I just read the blurb I posted first here. New Braunfels had 40,000 folks? When I was going to high school it was 5,000. No wonder the driving around town has gone to hell.

Just a leetle heads up: the leetle fellers and gals they have working parking will always try to put you in the grass with the general car populace. "Splain that you're not riding a dirt bike and you can find tarmac to land on.
