 I have almost 5000mi since Mar 2006 on my 05 RT. I had noticed on the computer the mpg going up to 52.7. In the last month of riding I have watched it go down and at present it is 42.7. Any ideas?

Purely commuting and riding in town I tend to get 42-43mpg pretty consistently. On some long cross country trips, straight flat roads and with the cruise control on I've gotten 55mpg or maybe a little more. It really depends on the kind of riding you do but I wouldn't consider 42mpg to be unusual.

The gasoline may be the culprit. I suspect that MA is now selling oxygenated fuel for the winter?

Does your state require a different gas formulation for the winter months? I live in PA, but work in Baltimore, MD. I usually gassed up in MD since some of the gas stations on my route were cheaper. About a month ago, I noticed my mileage drop; not as drastic as yours, but 53 down to 49.

I started filling up at different gas stations(some in PA, and some in MD) and noticed I always got better mileage when I filled up from a PA pump.
