Today, rode from Darlington, up to Carter Bar (stopping at the First & Last Cafe on the A68) then over the top, down to Kielder (ciggy break on the dam), through Hexham, and back home. Mostly sports bike riders, who thought my LT was a bus - 3 of us (me(LT), Firestorm and Aprillia RGV) all got back to the village pub at about the same time - the rest of the sports bikes were about 20 mins later. :rotf:

Weather woz good - 2 showers, but most of the time, dry roads, sunshine, no leaves, horse droppings, tractor mud (and NO SALT) - unfortunately, probably last ride out of the year.

For some reason, most of us just loved it, but can't explain why. A quick 270 miles, but may not be out till spring

Much as I would like to the dainty pillion has a riding lesson tomorrow before her test on Monday. So I will watching my darling children and doing the list of jobs as instructed ;-((

Still I am off work all next week and will deposit the sprogs at my parents, which will soon take the smile of their face, so I may be able to get a few miles though if all goes well it may be very slow as I will have to wait for my dearly beloved to catch up.

Brian, I thought the idea was to head south for the winter. Spain sounds good.
Enjoy the riding, maybe you can show Rena and I some of your favorite roads next year. Cheers

nup - I took the piccy . . . (if you really want to see me, check out Gallery, 'whats popular','top viewed images' - piccy of me outside Gras (Route de Napolean, Southern France)) - Today, took two girlies (one on my LT and one on my mates Rocket III) (plus Harry on his 2001 'Wing, and 'Boring Bob' on his Japanese bike(it's silver, but I don't know what model ! ) up from our village (near Darlington), through the Tyne tunnel, then up the A19, Coastal Route, lunch at Craster(unfortunately - no kippers (long story which I won't go into here), then up to Holy Island (so full of twitchers, it was unreal(some were 70yo grannies with the biggest telephoto lenses you could imagine (?))) - then back down the A1 (in time to miss the Newcastle match (they came 2nd - you'ld get a silver medal for that in the Olympics!)) - held up for a bit going past the Metro Centre, then a nice dash (35 miles) home. - How long can this weather hold out ??

This has been going on for 4 weeks now - 'Last Ride Out ?????????? '

Unreal - Change of route - home, Darlington, Middleton Tyas, Richmond, Leyburn, Kettlewell, Skipton, Harrogate, Ripon, Busby Stoop, Northallerton, Croft, Hurworth, Neasham, Middleton-St-George, Sadberge, home. Weather was unreal - HOT, dry roads, unbelievable for time of year. BEST laugh of the day, stopped for brecky in Leyburn, the lass came out with my plate, in a tea towel, as she pased it to me, my fingers went HISSSSSSSSSSSSS, she then said, Oh, By the Way, The Plate's Hot!! - there was not enough room on our table to put it down, and my ride buddy's were just pissing themselves ....

Surely, next weekend must be our 'Last Ride Out'.

I know I sure missed having a bike there last week. A bit cold in the morning, but brilliant biking weather during the days. :)
