Hi Dave, I would like to say thank you for your input on this board. I have enjoyed and benefited from your posts since joining the forum and buying an LT in May.
But I’m having trouble looking at your avatar and reading your latest posts regarding methodology, gyros and yaw sensors. Could you make your avatar blink every now and then? You're freaking me out. :D
(Thanks again to everyone for your input, this board has been a great help with my new bike)

I have always been of the opinion that avatars should show the person, since we usually like to see the person we are communicating with. That was what they were originally developed for. I feel that avatars that show other than the person posting are just plain wasted and serve absolutely no purpose.

Dave, I agree that the Avatar should be a photo of the person responding unless that person is wanted in 3 states for speeding or other crimes. I suggest that you use a photo where you are SMILING instead of the one they took for your passport or drivers liscence, whichever it was. That way we will all appreciate the "wonderful SMILING" Dave Shealey!By the way ,on a serious note, your input on this message board is greatly appreciated. Thanks dave, Ron Ray

This has got to be the best thread I've seen on here in years. Elton, I love the avatar, very clever. The question is will Dave see the humor in it.
I have always thought Dave's picture wasn't really him but a mug shot of an escapee from Alcatraz...

If you look carefully at the blinking and smiling there is a pattern. I've recorded it, slowed it down and played it backwards. You know I think it might be the software needed to get into the ECM...

Has anyone noticed that Dave has not responded since he took his Avatar down? I hope we haven't run off one of the best technical sources we have.
Dave, if you're out there. Come back! It was all just fun!....Maybe we should ask a technical question and see if he will take the bait? I'm dying to see if he has a new Avatar or if we have ruined him .... I mean... from an Avatar standpoint! Ron

This thread is perzackly why I go with an abstract avatar myself.

I did not go anywhere! Still posting. See other threads.
Just looking for a different Avatar. I thought if it was good enough for a Passport, it would be OK here.

Heck no! No problem. I will eventually dig up a better picture to use.
It won't be blinking though. :D
I got the oil filters today! Thanks. They will certainly find a good, but hot and oily home. :D :D I really appreciate them.

I think that our LT Doctor deserves to be awarded with an avatar deigned to depict his unreserved knowledge of our wonderful machine. Someting like a coat of arms with crossed screwdriver & spanner, oak leaves and cluster with Rampant LTs on each side. Some of you computer boffs could design this in no time. Let the entries be put to the vote and Dr Shealey to choose the best one as his personal avatar! Waddya think? :)

Maybe if all 10,415 of us should give a little back to this man that has given us so much of his time and wisdom. It has been worth a buck or more to me reading his tips on service and such. So Paypal the man so he can get back in the saddle and join us on the road again.

Wow! Thanks for the sentiment, but I will get another bike one day. What is keeping me from it is that my wife has had three phone calls after my bad accidents, and the last one really tore her up. She does not want to get another one while she is still on the west coast with no relatives nearby. She says I can get another bike when we get the home here sold and move back east. She has been wanting to get back near relatives again for some time, I think the last accident pushed her over the edge. Her parents and sister are all having medical problems, and she wants to see them more.
If anyone would like to help out, pray for the SoCal real estate market to recover. :D

That kokopelli falling off a motorcycle is a picture of me.
If there was a post or thread about Grif's new avatar, I missed it.
A first I thought I was looking at a picture of a caveman from some Hollywood production. Then I started to realize that that probably really is a picture of GG taken during his "rambunctious and misdemeanoring" past.
