I have been extremely happy with my selling dealer until today... For the last year or so, I have been attempting to purchase an extended warranty from my local (and only state) dealer. They have always treated me professionally, and the service techs are first rate.
The dealership management has made a decision (finally!!) today that they will not offer, or honor ANY extended warranty.
I called Max BMW, and they were more than happy to offer an 84 month, unlimited mileage warranty, with credit card reimbursement for $1,495.00.
I went to Street Cycles and spoke with Duane (the owner), and he was adamant that he would not honor any warranty, nor would they do warranty work on my bike if I purchased an extended warranty from a different BMW dealer. I was kinda upset. 20k, and he has done every bit of work on it. plus he has done work on my sons VFR, and my wife's Shadow.
My son is in the market for a new K12s, but I am not certain where it will be purchased. makes one think when the owner has this attitude.
I went out of my way to give Street Cycles every chance to sell me an extended warranty, I waited until I had 35,150 miles on the bike until I HAD to make a decision, sad..very sad that I will now end up driving 100+ miles for work, when his shop is 8 miles from my workplace.

You will love MAx even more. I live in Ct and bought my LT from his shop in NH. He has done nothing wrong and even took care of me when the clutch went at 7500 miles. His staff is great to deal with and always helpful. He has first rate shop. I have two dealers in Ct I will not even buy oil from.

Mark, sorry to hear about your disappointment with your dealer.
Shame that customer service no longer means anything... and this dealer lost you business, your referrals, and a bad mark on this forum.
I had a similar experience with a dealer here in Socal, 4 miles from home, so I chose to ride an extra 60 miles to get to the dealer 30 miles away from me.
I know the math don't make sense... but the road I picked is very scenic, has lots of twisties, and a good portion of it is by the Pacific ocean!:D
But my former dealer lost my business and that of my SO. That includes regular maintenance items, accessories and riding gear, and eventually the purchase of our next 2 bikes!
How dumb some dealers can be!!!

I just got my bike back from Max for the 36k service. Picked up, serviced, washed (needed it badly), and dropped back off. Fair price great work. I just whish he had the extended service plan before mine expired.
Treats all his customers the way they should be.

I bought my LT from away... I went to Street Cycles, my local BMW Dealer to get my gear and establish a relationship with them. Their prices are fair, service so far on the mark, and everyone there I've dealt with there (Duane, Ian, Katie, and other folks) are personable, friendly, and always ready to help.
Of course, this has nothing to do with an extended warranty... and unfortunately I'm not in the market for one. I can only speak of my relationship with Street Cycles... and thus far they have served me well.
