The stock mirrors on the '05 RT are woefully inadequate and provide lousy coverage. Are there any mirrors that will fit in the holes by the grips?

Check with your dealer as mirrors from a couple of other BMW models will easily mount in the holes. Having gotten used to the RT's mirrors, I haven't added the others, but IIRC, the price is around $80~$100.

I agree. The stock mirrors offered me a really good view of my gloves! I bought the R12GS mirrors and harware (bolts, nuts, etc.) and mounted them in the holes. For me they work great... use the GS mirrors for normal driving and aim the stock mirrors down the sides of the bike to pick up the blind spots (you may want to add stick-on "eyeball" mirrors as well.

Again, works great for me and allows me to see all of the terrors of I-80 in California coming up from behind!

I was mistaken in my original post, the mirrors I put on my RT are from the '02 k1200RS...they run about 50 bucks each plus the hardware. Sorry!

I purchased my RT from an individual who had bar raisers installed. Turns out these relocate the position of the hadlebars so that I can see well without needing additional mirrors. I confirmed this by sitting on a bike identical to mine without bar raisers installed...the result was horrible, I could not see anything around my hands.

Glad it works for you. I too have bar backs but still determined that I needed additional mirrors. Mine are from the K12RS.

My Suburban Machinery risers cleared my stock mirrors eliminating the view of my gloves/grips.
