Took the wife away last weekend and headed for the lake district .
heavy rain most of the way when all of a sudden the brake warning light came on , so i stopped and switched the ignition off and then switched back on again. 20 miles further and it came on again , so i repeated again and all okay until i noticed that when i used the rear brake the light came on again .
stright away i thought maybe the fluid is low and after a check it was on the max line . so i then checked to see if one of the bulbs was blown or a loose connection on the rear light was the cause , but everything was okay , so monday last i rang my dealer and he told me to bring it in and they would hook it up and check the stored memory for faults .
The outcome was a faulty rear brake light switch which water had got in and caused this problem , but once dried out it was okay.
dealers gonna change it for a new one under extended warranty .
has any body had a problem with water in this switch before , and can i prevent this happening again ?.
