Is anyone familar with or have a Rascal Teardrop Trailer by Little Guy (http://www.golittleguy.com/ )? I'd like some input on the trailer and how it tows with an LT. It weighs in at 460 lbs and a gross of 600 lbs.

My .02:
WAY too much weight to tow safely with any bike. Stay under 250lbs. gross and you will be one "happy camper".
As much as I love teardrops you need to stay light or all you will do is focus on the trailer every minute you are towing it.

Thx a lot for the advice Ron. I believe you speak from years of experience as I read your posts on this site and I have decided to drop the Rascal trailer for something yet to be found! Thx also for the site reference - looks good!

I tow a Aspen Sentry with the LT. Take a look at trailmasterinc.com . I believe the trailer is about 270lbs and has a gross loaded weight of 550lbs. I never load it that heavy. I try to stay about 400 gross lbs. I use the rule that the trailer should not weigh more than 1/2 the motorcycles weight. Although I know its back there, I have towed it over 7000 miles with absolutely no troubles. Trailer brakes would be nice during emergency stops. Just allow for plenty of stoping distance and take corners a little wider than usual and you won't have any problems. My gas mileage has dropped fro low 50's to about 40mpg when towing.

Here are a couple of links to some pretty interesting trailers. New ideas are always fun to check out. The Tailwind trailer is a beauty and the theme cars are fun as well. :yeah:

Not sure where Tom is having the Tailwind trailers built, but Spring Branch is just around the corner from Boerne. May have to wrangle a visit someday. There is a feller on a blue GW that hauls a matching color trailer thru Boerne now and then - now that I've seen the Tailwind website, I'm thinkin' he's haulin' a Tailwind. Guess I'll look closer next time I sees 'em.

I've had two of John's Bushtec trailers and have had them on the highway for 3500 mile camping trips loaded up. They tow great and the resale is very good on them too.
