kinda sorta
some background.. My wife and I have been looking for a vehicle for our son to take to college, along with his Honda Interceptor. About 3 weeks ago, she came home from a stop at our Credit Union and told me about a sign that she had seen on the door. "bids being taken on 2001 Audi Quattro"
I kinda heard her, but lost interest when she said it looked rough to her.
a week later, I happened to be driving by, and decided to stop in. the car had 4 BALD tires, with one flat. yup, really nice.. had some wear on the drivers seat, and some body dings too. whatever, I made a mental note to do a KBB on it.
Last Tuesday, I was talking to Chris on the phone, and surfing the net at the same time (multi-tasking!) and hit the KBB site by mistake.
ehh, what the hell, I put the info in, and the damned car came in at just under $14,000. huh, I sat up a bit, and told Chris I was leaving early.
drove the bike home, filled the air tank up, and drove the avalanche down to the credit union. got the keys, filled the tire, and fired it up.
a 1.8 Turbo, that just purred. 6 cd changer, with Bose. 5 speed manual, heated leather, power sunroof. everything worked!
huh, this was the last day for a bid too. what the heck, I put in a $6,500 bid, and found out 12 hours later I now owned an audi. damn~!! 4 new tires, and a wash in and out, and it works great for the boy!
