We saw some guys doing this same thing in Mexico about 15 years ago. They would finish the painting off by burning off spray from spray cans of clear coat to help the paint dry. Of course since they were doing this at night in a parking lot it looked pretty impresive. I still have 5 of the paintings that I bought from them.
