I finally landed back at home today about an hour ago. Kari and the cats all still remember me so I guess that's a good sign. ;) 4870 miles racked up across 15 states from 8/29 to today. Got to visit with some family and friends I hadn't seen for a long time, got to see a lot of very beautiful country, took in a number of cool sites from the Barber Museum to Mt. Rushmore to a salmon run in the Cascades to the Museum of Flight, and even more stuff I haven't quite processed yet. I think I'm somewhere around 2000 or so photos from the trip; I'll have to trim that down a bit before I update my website. :D

This is a trip that I have dreamed about for at least 15 years and now that it's over I have a great feeling of accomplishment, but coupled with some sadness that it has ended. It actually feels a little weird to be home. I'm unpacking my stuff and putting it away and my brain keeps wondering when I have to put it all back in the bags, strap it on the bike and head out again. I guess I'll adjust back in a day or so.

As for my LT, it performed flawlessly through the entire trip - no hiccups, faults, breakages or other issues. It started every morning whether it was hot and muggy, cold and dry, pouring rain or smoke filled skies, ran all day when I asked, and did it again the next day. I feel very lucky and happy to have such a dependable riding companion.

That's about it for now. once I get my pictures from the trip sorted, processed and posted on my website I'll send out a link to share them with everyone. Now to see if I remember where everything is around the hacienda. :)

Sounds like a great trip. Envious. Can't wait to here more.

Thanks David,

Thanks for the part of the trip I got to ride with you, to spend all those hours in the Barber museum, and learning about some motorcycles I never knew existed.
Getting to meet Mr G Barber himself.

Dont be surprised if I show up on your doorstep looking for a corner to sleep in.

Glad you made it home safe and had a great trip.

I had a ball hanging out with you, too. Barber was a blast, I just hope we get to go back and take up Mr. Barber's offer for a few hot laps around the track in his race car! Come on out west, I'll have some room for you.
