The new radio I had installed (The old one had a bad amp so they comp'd me a new one) I've noticed the speed sensor for volume is not working.

I thought they had it set off , but that's not the case. It just doesn't work regardless of setting.

Any Ideas how to fix this?

At the risk of sounding like a smartass...take it back

I think there is a setting where you can choose how fast the volume ramps up as the speed increases. Maybe it is turned off.

Sorry, but on Friday I am too lazy to dig my manual out. Look around, I bet you'll find it.

I just saw the other post about 06 auto volume. Check it out.

I have the SVOL set ON at any of the 1-4 it does nothing. :(

I know On my Porsche it can be disabled with the removal of a wire on the back of the radio (The one that goes to the speedo) But I seriously doubt they did anything like that .... I was wondering if there's a seperate wire that might have come loose OR if the new radios are not compatible in that way with the older bikes.

Are you using an intercom to get music to your headset, or just listening to the speakers? If an intercom, and if a VOICE II system, you have to disable the speed sensitive volume control either on the bike radio or the VOICE II to get it to actually work. It's some convoluted process that was one of many reasons I pitched the VII and went back to a pre-05 J&M comm system on my 05.

I don't use an intercom , just the speakers. But I do see that there's a setting for the intercom in the selection menu.

Thanks for the suggestion , I'll look into it more!

In that case I'd say it's broke! :(
