I made up a bracket to mount my XM antenna back beside the radio antenna. I cut it out of a piece of sheet metal (0.060") so that I could bolt it on the bottom of the antenna bracket (ie removed the small cover plate). I twisted it slightly so that the antenna surface is parallel to the ground.

As part of this, I removed the Stingray and ran a XM antenna extension cable (it came with my Garmin 2730) from the BMW mount back under the seat, where I connect the XM antenna "hockey puck". This way I can easily remove the antenna to use in other vehicles.

Some pics below for info.

Realwing,
Nice work on the bracket but I believe by being so low and to the side of the trunk, you will experience reception problems periodically especially traveling east to west and possibly, north to south on the east coast.
I'd be interested in your actual experience with the mount.

Seems OK so far in my location in all directions, but dont have a lot of experience yet.
