I am contemplating purchase of a cyclecar (three wheeler) with a K1100 drivetrain. Can you point me to a source of things to look out for that may be troublemsome in the future? I'm fairly savy re: things automotive but have no experience with the "K" bike mechanicals. Thanks.

Fill out your profile. Everyone likes that here.
Your reference to the drive-train means Engine, clutch, transmission, paralever, driveshaft and 90 degree gear box? You might expand abit as to what a cycle car is.............. is it a "trike" with one wheel in back or 2 in back. Or, is it a traditional sidecar? As to the question you asked, my answer.......... The K1100LT drivetrain is one of the most durable for its application that BMW has ever built. You might post your question on K11og (K11 owners group). There are some experts over there. How much or how little of the "donor" unit is used would be of interest also. imo
