Two days ago I posted a question asking the forum for help on how to get audio from my Valentine into the comm II system.
http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14329
I must say I'm truly dissapointed, I got no response not even a smart@ss comment from Joe,
I became extremely distraught but eventually and with a lot of counseling got over it and decide to do something about my dillema.
First I answered my own question by reading some more posts and with a little experimentation I discovered that a 1/8 (mono) audio cable can be plugged into the Valentine remote adaptor
and then into the Aux inlet under the stringray, its just that simple.
However with the setup like that you can only hear the detector when the comm sytem is on
and in Aux mode, add to that the fact that Randy had installed the XM through that mode
and I needed to come up with something else.
Since I already had the tupperware of doing an HID install now is the time.
At Radio Shack I found a "remote amplified speaker" for $31.
I dissassembled it soldered in a different little speaker I had laying around just because it fit better, wrapped the bare amp in foam, wired it up plugged in the 1/8 mono cable from the Valentine remote audio adaptor and......
yes I can hear the Valentine ............anytime,
all the time even with the stereo blasting in my helmet speakers,
it is loud, very loud.
