After much digging, I've found that I can buy a $50 cable to connect to the AUX input on the back of my radio (w/single CD) and plug my iPod into the other end so I can hear it through the fairing speakers by selecting AUX on the radio. Woohoo!

But I'm real cheap, so I'd rather make my own cable. Does anyone have the pinouts for this 10-position connector on the lower right corner of the back of the radio? I was able to find a diagram at http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10472, but it shows the pinouts for everything BUT the AUX connector.

Where do you get the $50 cable?

IIRC, there is a thread on this site that gives the details you need. Someone made their own AUX cable for an '05 before we knew about the BMW-made version. A bit of searching should find it.

I think the cable can be purchased at a BMW car dealer, as well as other online sources. The connector part # is 82 11 0 149 389, "Aux Input Cable BMW Radio.".

HERE's a good link (http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8680) if you want to install the pre-made cable route.

To roll your own cable/connector, THIS IS THE THREAD (http://www.bmwlt.net/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Board=K1200LT&Number=207243) that you'd want to read.

Thanks for finding the link, Joe. BTW, if you had the link that the original poster was looking for, why didn't you just put it in your first post?

It can be used with a ComSystem/Baehr, etc.
