Steve, Al is at my house now...so reason for the post....on my computer.
Al and Mel are enroute to Outer Banks for a week vacation and birthday party:)
They stopped off in Chattanooga last night and Doug and Bob came down, so we had a good birthday dinner downtown Chattanooga...
WE are riding up to Ironhorse for dinner tonight...so anybody in the WNC area, give Ironhorse a call to reserve dinner and join us....
I leading the way to Ironhorse, you know at Al's age...a GPS is not enough sometimes..:)

Brett you better save that birthday fancy for the ALABAMA game... but Tennessee will need all the help and wishes, fancy or voodoo to beat Florida or Auburn this year!
Can we say...Happy Birthday Al and Roll Ride Roll!!!

Dinner was good... at 8:30 PM, Al's rear tire separated just as we started into the Cherohala Skyway...we had rode down to Bald River Falls , parked and Al check it... We made a few calls and found that Destination Motorsports had a tire, so we limped to Destination.. the guys there got us in and out in record time and got Al and Mel back on the road... we arrived at Ironhorse, but Charlene had the meal waiting on us.... the prime rib was a great as every...
Got message from Al tonight... they made it to the Outer Banks late this afternoon...
Brett, my condolences on the Tennessee loss...

You know I read that first response from Don's computer and wondered what the deal with. Then I got to suspecting Skippy, it's his birthday too.
Happy Birthday Skippy, leave Al alone and let him enjoy OB.

Thanks ya'll for the messages. Birthdays, well... (I did stop celebrating them a long time ago too Floyd, but when you're getting treated, why not join in with the program? :D )...but this one was an adventure from hell. Actually, in the overall scheme of things it wasn't that bad, and when you have the "Don" with you, things generally turn out all right anyway, even when you don't think they might at the time. The guy has East Tennessee, and I'm sure most of the State of Alabama, if not the rest of the country at his disposal. All you have to do is tolerate the stories...and we do with great pleasure!!! :histerica
I will say this...if you are starting from TN or western NC, the Outer Banks are at the absolute end of the freaking road!! Holy Crap!!...Can the average person even get here from there?!? And no, Skippy was not invited along on this trip, although I understand he did try to stow away in the trailer, just to pop up and appear at the last minute...the dog!
