For those of you on the right side of the room who could not hear very well, including the guys in the bathrobes ...

I welcomed the group and again extended our thanks to Chateau Elan staff and management - Henk Evers, Doug Rollins, Kim, Steve and Abu, all of whom were given enbroidered CCR jackets, with our many thanks. I also thanked all the many volunteers who worked on the hundreds of things that go into making the event run smoothly, and mentioned as many of them as I could remember from the preceding four days and more. And that included our loyal and valued vendors and Blue Moon cycles from Norcross who provided important on-site service to so many of our riders.

We introduced Board of Directors and thanked outgoing Board Members Ruth West, Richard Kuethe, Marty Jones, John Rehder, and Connie Fitch including presenting Connie with the frilly apron which stated "When I said I do, I didn't mean COOK!" I also noted that out of 15 directors on the Board for 2006, 14 had made it to the event this year, which was likely a record.

We welcomed new Board members for 2006/2007 - Dave Dragon, Jeff Eagan and Nathan coe. Newly elected at our Board Meeting in Chateau Elan were Delta Shipley and Steve Rowe, along with Ex-officio members David Taylor, Laurie Munson, Gail Hoogerland and Bill Wescoe. Board Officers for the year 2007 were Greg Griffin, Chair; Mark Neblet, Secretary; Jeff Mense, Treasurer; and 2008 Chair Elect, Nathan Coe. Board members serve three year terms. Any officer can repeat in his role except for the chairman who serves a one year term and may be relected but may not succeed him or her self in consecutive years. I also reminded the attendees that Curve Cowboy Reunion, Inc., which runs the event, is a 501 c 3 charitable corporation, operated and managed solely by volunteers who donate their time and energies to make CCR happen, and to provide educational opportunities and support children's charities in the town where the event is held. To date we have donated over $80,000 to local charities in just 6 years, and no doubt next year we will top the $100,000 mark.

Connie Fitch presented annual awards for 2006, and she has posted her awards elsewhere in another thread.

We awarded $21,099.00 to our designated local charity this year, the Tree House, and the check was presented to them by Gilda Slomka, whose committee was largely responsible for separating our members from their hard earned money.

I gave special thanks, as outgoing Chairman of the Board, to everyone who made my job easy this year, the Board, the volunteers, the vendors, the Chateau Elan staff, to my wife, Myra for her support, and especially to my strong right arm, Board Member Nathan Coe, from Orem, Utah.

I invite everyone to join us next year in Missouri at Tan-Tar-A, and to think about volunteering a little of your time and your ideas to help make each successive event better than the last one. There is no greater way to meet so many people whose screen names become familiar to you on the forums than by volunteering for a couple of hours at registration, at merchandise sales, or in one of the other important areas of the event - seminars, tech sessions, silent auction, 50/50 (and you can wear the sombrero), or any other capacity that interests you.

Thanks again for a great 2006. Onward and upward ...

Thanks, Barrett, for a job well done. Thank you for not only doing "the job", but doing it with a steady hand at the helm so that the organization has found calmer seas and a fine degree of decorum. You set a great target for all subsequent officers to follow.
