I know there was alot of discussion last year. Now some time has passed where I hope to hear some comments on which unit to go with. I have a buddy who will be outfitting a 2006 Honda ST 1300 and needs to start from scratch. Any comments would be helpful.

I purchased a Starcom Advance 4 months ago here in New Zealand, use it on my 'o6 LT and am very pleased with it. Prior to the purchase I had tried several other cheaper brands but wasn't impressed. The Starcom does everything I want it to - intercom, stereo music and GPS sound - although when using with the GPS there is some static but not too much. The Starcom is clear up to about 65 - 70mph but after that becomes a bit scratchy. I understand that Baehr have introduced a budget priced intercom similar in price to the Starcom, don't know how good it is but my be an option. Cheers, Ingel

After doing a lot of research on bike intercoms, I went with the Starcom system. I have nothing but good to report on it. It does everything as advertised, was easy to install and set up (you will have to play with the volume and squelch controls for a bit to get them right) and the sound quality is very good.

I have used both the Starcom 1 and the Starcom 1 Advanced, they have worked very well. I have the bluetooth phone module and it works great too. The only problem that I have had is with one of the microphones, and I think that was my fault. It didn't handle being subjected to that much rain. I switched to the boom mic and it seems to be more waterproof.
