Has anyone hooked up an external antenna to a cell phone?

Where did you mount the antenna?

Where did you place the cell phone?

By using the external antenna, does it disable the internal antenna?

I used an external antenna with my old Motorola. I mounted it on a BMR Antenna mount with the cable running to the oddments box where I had the phone. A say had because when I switched to a new Sony phone, it had so much interference with the comm. System, I had to remove it all.

I am having the same issue. I assume your service is with t-mobile or Cingular (GSM). I thought of hooking up the sony ericsson phone to an external antenna and may fix the issue.

Yes, I have Cingluar. I think the only solution is to put the phone in the trunk and have a bluetooth device in the oddments box connected to the intercom. My problem is my new phone isn't bluetooth.http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/images/icons/icon9.gif

Do you have a suggestion for which bluetooth device?

Has anyone out there used a bluetooth adapter, interfacing into the cell port, using a gsm handset?
