Hey guys,
How quickly 9 months can pass eh?

I am the very proud dad of Olivia May Lanyon, born 8pm 6 September 2006 and weighing in at 7lb 10oz...

Fortunately she takes her looks from her mother! :D

Just home from the hospital a few hours ago and mum and bubs are doing well.

Thanks Meesey,
Yup, isn't sleep depravation a form of torture in some parts of the world? :D

Thanks for your kind thoughts...

Lena and Olivia are doing great... Experienced our first night out of hospital last night...a bit of a shock to the system eh? :D:D:D

My mum passed away a few weeks ago, so this birth is somewhat bitter sweet...as she was really looking forward to seeing this little one. You know, I have never really been a spiritual sort of a bloke, but some funny things happen...the day of the birth, this pure white dove came and landed just outside of the bathroom window where both Lena and I were standing...it just sat there, even when I slid the window up higher...then flew off...I have never seen a white dove before around the area. Olivia was then born at exactly 8.00pm...the exact hour that my mum passed away...and my mum's death certificate arrived that same day... Spooky eh?

Thanks for all the kind thought guys...they are really appreciated!!!!

Take care all,

Ian & Lena & Olivia

G'day Ian & Lena

WOW, Congratulation to you both on the birth of Olivia. This is tremdous Ian and I feel very happy for you both. Savour every moment and every stage of their life. My Navy days I missed most of seeing my children go through their changes from first crawling to walking. Now I watch in with jubilance as I see my grandson go through this. It's a wonderful world and more wonderful when we bring someone into the world.

I am sorry to hear of your loss of your mum. Cherish your memories.

When things settle down and you are into your new routine we should meet up at Wiliamstown for a coffee.
It makes my day to hear such wonderful things We are very happy for you both.

Hi Ian,
Congratulations from the Land of Rising Sun.
The 6th of September 2006 is just the day Japanese Princess Kiko gave birth to a boy! All of Japanese celebrated birth of a new little life on the day.

Cheers

Hi Ian,
I've just checked in here too.
Fantastic news, glad everyone is going really well.
As the father of two (a 15 yo son & a 12 yo daughter), mate you can look forward to some great times ahead. Kids just bring out the best in you I reckon. My kids are at the centre of my universe. Yours will be too.
Savour every moment my friend. Trust me the time from toddler to teenager flies past so quickly its scary.

Again congratulations!!!

Cheers

Barry
Edit: Just read the rest of the posts, and I'm sorry to hear about your Mum. It's sad she passed away before being able to see her grandaughter.
