I had to sale my tickets to the CCR. I called C. Elon 2 months in advance and cancelled my reservation and told them who would be coming. They said ok. I get a $127.00 bill on me credit card. What? So I call them and They said They lost $30,000.00 on the CCR because of people making different reservation and not showing or some crap like that. They will not take the charge off or doing anything to help me. I did what I was told to do and now I am being charged for it. If anyone can help or if this happened to you let us know. Check your statement.

Thank You,

Surely there's a more civil way to handle this issue. Why are you ranting at us? Take this problem to the CCR BoD (http://www.curvecowboyreunion.com/CCR2006/directors.htm). Surely one of them will be happy to assist you. Their email addresses are on that page.

Always ask for one and the nameof the person with whom you spoke.
Amex has successfully handled this sort of thing in the past with those two data points.

This will happen to others. I turned the reservation over to other person that bought the tickets. I Infomed Elan Who was taking it. Was not given a number. Other people sold their tickets and turned in reservation in.

Thanks,
James

I think it is a lesson!
Many people grabbed up the slots, keeping others from being able to Properly plan the trip and attend.
Then ended up posting them for sale, (even at huge discount) when it was past time for many to be able to make arrangements.
I found it amusing in a poetic justice sort of way :)

Well I sold my tickets months before CCR. July to be exact. The only reason I sold my tickets is because I lost my job and the money is going to be very tight. I am hopefull I dont have to sell my bike which I did try but I refuse to take a bath on my 2005 K1200LT for under 15,000. Sorry for the rant.

Thanks,
James

one of the best way to handle it is to contact you credit card company and inform them they will contest the charge and should handle it for you

Mocksville, NCDid you get a cancellation number from them when you cancelled? If you did, then give them that number, the date you cancelled and remind them of the policy I copied below. If you transferred your reservations to another individual did you get the hotel to move the guarantee to their credit card? If they were a no show or a late cancellation then they should be responsible for the charges.

The hotel's policy as stated on the website: "When booking a reservation you understand:
Cancellations require 72 hours notice prior to arrival to avoid one night stay being charged to guest's credit card. To cancel a reservation please contact Reservations toll free in the US at 1-800-233-9463, and outside the US at 1-678-425-0900. To complete a reservation you will need to submit a credit/debit card for authorization. Credit/Debit card must be physically presented upon check-in. You must be 18 years or older to make a reservation and to check-in. A deposit of $15 will be charged when making a reservation. This will be applied to your room credit, however it is not refunded if canceling your reservation. " This same policy was read to me when I made my reservation.

Most resort hotels require between three days and seven days notice to cancel and if you do cancel a $25-50 charge is not unusual. If you do not cancel that far in advance you are usually responsible for one or two nights lodging plus taxes. In the event of a no show you can be responsible for the entire stay. The policy this year was not substantially different from Jackson Lake last year or Breckenridge the year before.

Sorry to hear about your job troubles, we have been there and it's hard.
We almost had to sell out and not go due to financial issues but I managed to pull it off with a second job. But I don't think we would have thought to ask for a cancellation number either, we don't travel much.
So thanks for sharing. Sorry you couldn't make it, I think we all take that chance when we pay in January for our reservation. You never know what might befall you between January and August. Hope you get the thing settled with the hotel. Good luck!
