Autocom audio lead mounting

Hi All,

Will be installing an Autocom on a K1200GT (when it arrives in a few weeks) and I'm looking for suggestions for mounting the connectors.

I believe I saw something about an external cap a few years ago on the this site, but not sure.

If I'm not mistaken the cap was similar to what's used for power points, but there were a few parts needed to capture the autocom plug in connector (and extend/expose female end) and then pass through body panels w/ a protective flip up cap.

Anyone done this/remember this and can help?

Also - anyone having a K1200GT that could recommend good mounting position for passenger/ride??

FYI - I've been in contact with Autocom to let them know we're really interested in a bulkhead mount product for the headset connectors.

After a few emails to provide description, and a digi-pix of Baehr's bulkhead mount they said they'd see what they could do.

They don't have this item today, but they just might in the future (no, I don't know when yet).

As more info is available, I'll be sure to update.

I have the Auto com on my 06 LT.
I called the company to see if they have a plug that can be mounted on the body of the bike. I was told they did not want to make a mount for the bike.They want the cord to be able to pull a part in any direction a person might fall. Having it connected to the body of the bike could cause injury. I just have the plugs coming out by the seat of the bike. I would love to have a permanente plug in the body of the bike... If you find something please let us all know.

They want the cord to be able to pull a part in any direction a person might fall.Or just forget to unplug it. Having a fixed socket mount would put much more stress on the connections than having a cable that can swivel around some.

If you really want the socket to stay in a fixed position, just wrap it with sticky-backed velcro, and stick the other velcro on the bike somewhere convenient. The socket will stay put for normal use but will still give if you yank it hard.
