Anyone use the new Music Interface: On-Board Stereo for the 2006 line? Part number 1319. I am wondering how it works with the LT's speakers. Autocomm says it lets you have the speakers and headsets on at the same time.

I thought that all autocom products leaves the bikes speakers on with the headsets? I have the pro series and the speakers are on at all times.

this part has to be wired into the speaker cables - it is covered in the HOW. It reduces the power and terminates in a 3.5 mm jack that you plug into the Autocom. Any sound coming out your speakers will come to your headset. Your Autocom than takes care of muting the sound to your headset for intercom or phone. The basic principle of Autocom has not changed in years - it just keeps adding more 'interfaces' so a lot of info on th eweb is still valid.

You can also tap into the Intercom (also known as AUX) connector on the rear of the radio unit. I am getting ready to pull her apart to tap in there today for the new Autocom Super Pro AVi I picked up at CCR.

I had already linked up my XM, GPS and MP3 through a simple mixer and pre-amp to the AUX in so it made sense to tap the headset out signals at the same connector to feed the sounds into the Autocom unit. I will still have the handle bar volume controls and mute available. Plus I can shutoff the speakers and not blast my neighborhood any more.

Just tested it out and it works like a champ all my inputs are there and I can either run with speakers on or off. Now all I have to do is put all the tupperware back on.

Cool...I think this will be a winter project for me.

Not so fast. I made the fatal mistake of testing (prior to tupperware install) with out the engine running. So now there is noise in the Autocom from the Headset out port on the radio. Same cable run that previously went the same route up to my MP3 player so I know it is the output port on the radio. I will solve it eventually but wished I had noticed that while I had it apart. I have a few ideas to try out. Will post a final solution for all to use.
