I'm not sure but I don't think I've heard of even one failure this year..

I know one failed before the trip but not during.....

Does anyone know of one ?

No rear drive issues, had my first no speed fall over with wife on board coming back though. Wife received bruised elbow, the driver a bruised ego.

Those legs get a little weak after a few hundred miles....The first stop is sometimes a little scary.

Hope you didn't tear her up.....The bike that is..

Hope the wife heals too.....Sorry to hear about the bruises....

My rear end almost failed on the ride home, but that had nothing to do with the BMW. :o

Two on the way in. The guy up in Boise and Helmut who was traveling with Tom Russell in Deming, NM. Those are the only two that we know of.

As Grif stated, my rear bearing failed the day before my planned departure for CCR. Luckily Morton's replaced the bearing and I modified my plans and all is well on the motorcycle front....Now on to the damage my house/dock/seawall took from Ernesto.....

Since you're asking. I had my rear drive bearing fail on the way to MOA in VT in July. See writeup of great service in Cleveland in the October '06 issue of BMW ON. I got back to Nashville and took the bike in to have the oil changed prior to riding to CCR only to find that the main seal had leaked all over the clutch and had to be replaced. Total cost $1,900 in one month.

Since you're asking. I had my rear drive bearing fail on the way to MOA in VT in July.Actually, the thread was about rear drives that went out on the way to or from CCR...not the MOA Rally. Splitting hairs maybe, but just trying to keep things straight. I'm a little anal that way.

Which shop did the work in Cleveland? Sills? Or BMW MOC?

My 4th her 1st

Place: Helen, GA

Conditions: Left turn up a hill - wheel turned to the left - came to stop - then a drop

Data: 0 mph - $0 - we both walked off like we were pros

Results: She decided she does not want to arm rests . . .
