OK...so it's NOT exactly authentic Mexican food. But I like grabbing a quick bite at Taco Bell for two basic reason. One: Their food sticks to my ribs. And without giving me that weighted-down feeling that a lot of fast foods give me. Two: FREE Refills. When I'm done eating, I take my 3-Liter CamelBak over to the beverage machine and fill it up with Lipton Raspberry Iced Tea. Yummy! A nice break from just plain ol' water for the next several hundred miles. And...it's basically free!$!

I knew I'd hear plenty of comments from all you wannabe comedians! Keep em coming! :D
As for me, I'll take a Mexican Pizza w/ 2 hard Taco Supremes please. And a LARGE drink . . . to go! :)

I saw a guy at our local Taco Bell unloading boxes of ground beef and the boxes were labeled Grade D beef. I asked the guy about that and he said it's the lowest grade made for human consumption. Yum

Taco Bell is my favorite "on the road stop" as well for the same reasons...
Never tried filling the camelback up with Mt. Dew though... ;-)

HYSTERICAL! :rotf: :histerica :rotf: :
Mexican Pizza: 550 calories (per serving), 51% of calories from fat, 45 mg of cholesterol, 1049 mg of sodium.
2 hard taco supremes: 440 calories, 55% of calories from fat, 70 mg of cholesterol, 720 mg of sodium
Large drink, 32 oz.: (cola or similar) 450 calories
3 litres of sugar flavored iced tea: 1200 calories
The really big problem with the drinks (besides 100% of calories from sugar) is all the extra "goodies" they put in like artificial colorings, especially Yellow No. 5, which has been shown to promote attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder in children. Hmmmm....
DAMN, I sure know how to ruin a party.
JUST Ron! :p

That, and you can basically feed a third world nation for about $5
The jet power assist you get 30 minutes after eating at Taco Bell probably helps with your GAS mileage. ::histerica

Dude, it's not the other fast food chains that are giving you that "weighted-down" feeling... :D
2. I don't know what a Uni-go's weight capacity is, but if you had one you could fill a water-tight bladder inside the thing COMPLETELY FULL with the iced tea. You'd save enough $$ to pay for the thing and never have to stop for something to drink. Of course, you'd have to have a food-grade plastic tube long enough to get inside the store from the parking lot, and you'd need a medical-grade tube for the water-tight bladder on the other end, if you know what I mean.

Be real careful of anything other than water in the CamelBak! I tried that on one trip, the drinking tube got a coating of fungus inside it from the sugar I suppose. There was also some inside the bag by the end of the trip. I assume you have the cleaning kit with the long tube brush and disenfectant? If not, better get one.

Yes, isn't there something in the LD rider's handbook about the nutritive value of fast food, esp. Toxic Hell, I mean, er, Taco Bell? Useless calories, caffiene and copious amounts of sugar are such great performance enhancers - that must be why it's on the menu for all those athletes as well.... it does, however, explain why you are so full of sh#t! :histerica

Yes, isn't there something in the LD rider's handbook about the nutritive value of fast food...Why are you reading that? It's not like you actually ride more than a few hundred miles away from su casa. (A little Spanish throw in there.) :)
And don't be talking dirty to me. You know what that does to me. I'll have to call Dean on you! :D

Oh, sure, just throw that little fact in my face....! :D Even on my long rides (you know, 50+ miles) I wouldn't eat TB food! Yuck!
