Good morning all,

I have a question regarding the reception on the factory installed radio and antenna. I live about 20 miles from all the major transmission antennae in the area. I can't seem to receive any stations that are more than 10-15 miles away. Is this the normal range for this antenna? If not, how can I tune it to get better performance?

I don't know what is causing your problem, but I am receiving clear reception from as far away as 60-70 miles. Out in the countryside and away from the hustle and bustle of major cities, the reception is even better.

I read in a post somewhere that there was some paint on the threads of the antena and once the paint was removed the reception was excellent.

I had a the same problem, it was the antenna connections. Check the outside first and if the problem is not solved you can remove the adjacent small red tupperware and tighten the internal connection.

Thanks for the help. I finally got around to checking out your tricks. I loosened the antenna and moved it in just a bit. After tightening it again, it now picks up nearly all local stations by scan. I can manually scan to the stations it misses.
