Hi guys I just purchased an 02 Lt with 21000 ks on it got all the book except the instructions on the gps unit,
It is the OEM unit (not garmin) ei it has the main box in the left pannier an external airial and was the original unit.
I cant work out how to use it I have got some of it worked out, but it took me about two days just to work out how to turn it off. has any body here got the instructions in a form which can be sent to me? would appreciate any help thanks

Bloody hell - that's a rare beast you have there.
You could try doing a search here because I think some of the members here had that unit - or search the original egroups.yahoo.com K1200LT list.
Or try via your dealer or BMW Aus.
Sorry can't help more

If this is what you have (see picture) it is a Streetpilot III,
you could search for that on the www or
PM me your E-mail address and I'll send you the pdf file

BMW flirted with a GPS using a CD player (same as the regular CD player) but in the left pannier.
Screen was above the radio, where the GPS prep mount is on later bikes.
As I recall, these bikes suffered terribly from circuit leaks and flattening batteries. I don't know anyone who actually spec'd the GPS - it was expensive, and took up a huge space in the left pannier, meaning that you had a bike with sod all luggage space, but equal ballast in the panniers.

Smutje's got one of these on his bike. He's been to the CCR (lucky devil!) so he may not be back home yet but a PM might well get you the data you need.

Greetings people.
I have one of these old dinosaur style cd based GPS systems on my '99 LT. If any one requires it or if you know anyone that requires the manual for its operation, simply contact me and I'll get off a photocopy of it and send it away for them.
Kindest regards to all.
