Just got my 03 LT this weekend. Previous owner had a BMW Comm system installed. It came off another LT -- year unknown. I need headsets and possible documentation. Before I can get any of these I need to know what I have.

The headset Plug has 6 pins
From left to right looking at the unit:
1) a Aux Plug (looks like potable cd speaker plug"
2) Push Button (H/S EXT)
3) Knob (Int Vol)
4) 5 pin round connector
5) Knob (VOX SEN)
6)another Plug smaller than first
7) FMS/CB toggle switch.

Yes, you have the BC3 or J& M built comm system.

1) yes Aux port for MP3 player or other device that uses a stereo 1/8th plug for speakers/headset.

2) Pushbutton selects either headset in your helmet or outside speakers

3) Intercom Volume

4) Connector for FRS/GMRS radio

5) Voice activated mic sensitivity adjustment.

6) Cell phone connector for 5/32 plug

7) Transmit selector for either the FRS radio or the CB radio. (you can only transmit on one at a time, but can listen to both)

This all depends on what additional equipment you have installed....ie CB radio, Cell phone,FRS radio, etc.

You can acquire headsets from your BMW dealer or contact J&M for their headsets.... http://www.jmcorp.com/

If you buy the 6 pin J&M headsets, you will still need the BMW lower cords. The driver's cord has a long uncoiled section so as not to interfere with the handlebars.

Thanks It is nice to know what I have. I also have a little sticker Shock... WOW they are proud of there stuff. I Tried the AUX port to no avail. I had a cord for my old ChatterBox. It fit, but no sound out of the speakers. I put the radio on AUX and Intercomm and pressed the Int/Ext speaker button. May need to find instructions and wiring diagram.

Thanks

The Aux port would take a cord with 1/8th inch stereo plugs on it. I am not sure if your chatterbox was mono or stereo. Also, you have to use the volume control on the MP3 player though that port. The handlebar volume control doesn't work that port.
