Tom, I traded my 02 LT on 06 RT. I'm loving it big time so far. Havn't done a big day(s) yet so I don't know if I'll miss the LT after 11 hours in the saddle but I do feel like I've lost about 400 pounds. The RT almost seems like it's almost mind controlled it so responsive. I just broke down and purchased a set of elf pegs. l like how they mount and intigrate with the bike, they feel OK sitting in the driveway. I havn't fully installed them as my 1st service is this week, thought one less thing to remove and reinstall might be kinder to the mechanic.

I hope to do two 8 hr days next weekend and will know much better how they work. The J -pegs on my LT were indispensable, I hope the Elfs will prove to be also, especially considering the cost. If not, look for a used pair being available soon!

Enjoy, Dan

'Don't have a model yet; 'need to borrow a bike, but we want to design a Mick-O-Peg for as many of the BMWs as possible.

I feel the same way, sure is a big difference from the LT, I can turn the RT around in a parking lot without breaking into a cold sweat. Highway pegs are a must, especially since the riding position is on the RT is tucked more than the LT..

Have you got a date they will be available?

Tom,

I wish I knew... It all depends on an owner making his/her bike available when we can work on it...

I am also considering the elf pegs...
However, I'd be a willing beta tester for the Mick o Pegs! :D PM me.

I installed the "Sahara" highway pegs before a recent 7400 mile vacation. The added foot position made a big difference on long days, just wish they were cheaper. They are foot rests only and cannot bear any weight.

I picked up a set used. I would say that the real benifit is a few minutes in a different position. But for actually riding for a long period with legs up , not great... The bike design just really puts your legs out too wide to be "that" comfortable for lot's of miles.

Bottom line is I'm glad I got them for $200 but at $300+ I would be dissapointed.

I would agree with fla954 ... the pegs offer a few moments in a different position but aren't all that comfortable due to how wide you have to spread your legs to get your feet positioned. Put some on my bike after my last half-day ride and really haven't used them much at all. Probably should have tried something else.

Wanna buy mine? :D

I rode my R1200RT the other day from GA to MD (650 miles) ... 9.5 hours in 40 degree weather. I could have used some highway pegs as I was getting some muscle spasms in my left rear thigh area. I had to sit back on the passenger seat of the bike for a few miles and stretch at a few stops before the problem went away.

I'm looking into the elf pegs and the those advertized at www.hawksproducts.com too ... the Talon combo. The only think I note about the Talon's is that they stick out all of the time ... and I wonder if this could interfere with cornering ... probably not is my guess except for extreme situations. Would be interested in Mick-O Pegs ... had them put on at the CCR last summer and I like them better than J-Pegs.

I used a set of the Talons from Hawk products on my R1200CLC.They worked well and were relatively inexpesive.I had a set of takeoff pegs from another bike,so I only had to buy the brackets.

Please do post your experience with the ELF pegs. I would like to have places to rest my feet from time to time but all that I have tried mount much too high to be comfortable to me. Thanks,

Tom:

I used the ELF pegs for the first time yesterday on my RT and they are very good. I recommend them.

I have the Mico Pegs on my LT and I really like them. I look forward to a Mico peg solution for the RT.

Jpegs/Elfpegs are a nice product. You should also take a look at these --
