Saw this on the Cycle Gadgets web site. I've always been a little anal about putting things on my windshield, buy have always thought a safe version of Rain-X would be great on a motorcycle shield. Here's the text on Cycle gadgets site. Doesn't exactly come right out and say its safe, but kind of infers it.

Race Shop ClearWinner windshield & faceshield treatment - If you're a fan of treatments like Rain-X on your car window, but have heard the horror stories of using these types of chemicals on your lexan & acrylic windshields & faceshields, this is the solution you've been waiting for! ClearWinner causes water to bead up and blow off, and repels sleet & snow too.

Anybody Try It?

I just yesterday rec'd an email about cleaning my new warranty replacement shield. I was asking about the Hondaline spray polish ion the black can. He said that is fine, but "Just be aware that anything with ammonia will strip the protective coating right off. Ex: WindEx or RainEx. " That was from a guy at National Cycles.

So use that to determine if the stuff you;re looking at is suitable.
