a select the local UI with that generates dots on a map. Select the map and a distance and it generates a list of users in that area...

Hmm, don't get me started.

I hear there is a group of BMW riders that get together Sundays here in Vegas at Henry's American Grill, 237 N Stephanie St, Henderson, NV 89074 hopefully I will be there next Sunday, got the bike in the shop getting the pwr winshield motor replaced, seemes to have burnt out.

Hope to see some of you there :)

I've tried that site several times over the last two days and all I ever get is *site is under maintenance, back in 5 minutes*

I tried from my company network and off site straight Internet...same thing.

Nice device. The only thing I would add is ability to put in LAT/LON as an option to zip code. It's got me on the wrong side of Interstate 10.

Got to say though I'm out here in Oklahoma City with no bike and checked to see if I could rent one, no luck. Okay not like there are any exciting places to ride too, this place is soooooo flat but I see soooo many BMW's out here that it makes me wonder what do the beemers for fun. Should have brought mine to check out the area and maybe next time I will. Will be heading back home a few days before Christmas.

Wow! Technology is amazing! You gotta try the 'Satellite View" or the Hybred View - Way 21st Century Kool! The Sat data base appears to be a year or two old, but it is still amazing to us old (Read: Seasoned) guys.

What I find Truly amazing! Is that out of ALMOST Eight Thousand Online Members only 215, or so, have decided to play!?

Not to Hi-Jack this great post, but what's the deal? Why don't MORE subscribers join in?

The veracity of this site is directly linked to the involvement of its members. If the ratio of active participants to the ratio of total-site members on this Post (which is VERY INTERESTING and way kewl)is as low as this indicates, then this does NOT bode well for our group's influence.:(

In any event, this is a great feature and fun too!

Sorry for the rant. ;) :D :D :D

Gidday everyone. Well so far I am feeling very lonely as no-one else from Australia has listed yet, but hopefully more will come along soon.

Oh and JFYI, Australia is not all just one big country, we do have states too. ;)

I have tried 3 times to sign on, each time waiting about 3 min on my dsl line and nothing happens except freezing up. So maybe others are having trouble and that is the reason more have not signed on. :-(

Oct 23rd, 2005, 8:26 pm
Hey Ed - post your Starbucks debit card number. I'll put it to good use!!! :) Just kidding - you can post 'bout anythang. Your LT's description, for example. Or if you'd like to be available for helping a stranded rider by providing tools/coffee/trailer/etc.

EdBruce
Oct 23rd, 2005, 8:40 pm
Thanks Dick! Tried it again and all I get is invalid city. Oh well. I didn't have my Starbucks Card with me, it's in the car. I put my Visa in the shoutout for ya instead Dick , but like I said. it seems it don't like where I live.:alien:

I'll just PM ya the Visa number instead Dick if that's OK with you

Frappr is powered by Google (as indicated in the bottom left corner of the Frappr Map) which does not support all browsers, and may require certain JavaScript settings. Solutions to some of the display issues members are having may be found by ...... going to www.google.com/maps (http://www.google.com/maps) , click on the Help button in the upper right corner of the map. Then check out the tips under "Troubleshooting/Browser Information". Good Luck.

Evidently the system does not work so well if you happen to live someplace more exotic than southern California. When I type in my zip code (99615 -- Kodiak City, on Kodiak Island, Alaska), it tells me I live in an "invalid city, please try again".

Well, there you go.

Thanks for the heads up on this. It is quite nice to see where we are located, even nicer to put names to faces for those that post a pic.

I need to change my location :bmw: How do I go about it?

You should be able to change your location by editing your FRAPPR profile. Click on your pushpin. When the bubble shows up, click on the thing that looks like a little house. There you should be able to change the zipcode of where you are.

If you didn't create a FRAPPR account and there's no way to edit it, just add yourself a second time. I'll go in and find the first entry and remove it.

Frappr is an external service to us, so I can't help much more than that.
