We're planning on camping this year at the Beemer Bash in Quincy. Registrations need to be in by the first of Sept. Here is the form (http://www.ccbr.org/pdf/2006-bash-reg.pdf).

Plans are to go up on Thursday afternoon and get a good camping spot, we need to know how big of a spot to get so please sign up here. For those not wishing to camp there are hotels near by and we still might let you sit by the camp fire and drink a few :beer::beer:.

The $40 registration includes meals and camping, yes they have showers too. Ifin you have a GS plan on riding it, lots of good GS type roads.:D

Since the poker run is Saturday, it looks like I will spend Friday getting there(taking the long way via the northern route). Schedule is not firm, just my first thoughts.

Well, it seems they are reporting that we are going to get some weather down from the north. The predictions have the north end of the 5 being one big water crossing. It probably isn’t too smart to ride all the way to Quincy from Vancouver and back, especially to tent camp. I guess this is why I haven’t been accused of being “too smart” in recent memory.

Anyway, I’m hitting the road early Friday and hope to see everyone late afternoon/early evening. Save me a space to float the tent.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to pass on the Beemer Bash this year because I threw out my back at the beginning of the week and it isn't good enough to ride and camp. I'm off work this week and possibly next week too if it doesn't improve. Enjoy and ride safe!

Wow!, was I tired when I got home - my legs hurt, got to get some large pegs and bar risers so I can stand on the pegs. I'm improving rapidly with every dirt mile, I can almost keep up with Nathan. Of course I didn't go fast enough to bottom out the front end and break my fender. :p But I did roll off my center stand, bounce off my kick stand and fall over fully loaded. :o
Great campout, with the perfect company and thanks for coming down from the great North Wet Dan!

Well I can tell you These guys were prepaired they pre rode the trip , Which made the trip very easy No feeling of ? are we Lost? Some awsome views I personaly would never go to these places on my own and with a group it was easy , every one kept an eye out for the last guy ( ah that would be me the Airhead )

I would realy think about taking John up on his idea of touring all the lookouts in Northern CA views you an only see in National Geographic.

Raffy's Idea, Nathan and myself started touring Nor Cal 4x4 trails listed in the book Nathan found. Many of the trails have Fire lookouts on the route, and after finding gems like the ones on Grizzly Ridge and Slate Mountain I'm all for hunting up some more. Maybe a monthly GS ride, and BTW I actually like getting lost.

A big thank you from the wandering GS rider from Vancouver… I had a great time and really appreciated the fine H.D.D.C. hospitality. The ride home was beautiful and I got in a little before 6:00 pm on Sunday. What a terrific weekend.

Should any of the Posse find themselves in the Portland/Vancouver area, don’t hesitate to give me a holler. We have a spare bedroom if you need a rest stop or place to stay the night. Heck, I might even stock a bottle of Jägermeister just in case!
