Does anyone know exactly what gets done during the 18K inspection. I just dropped my bike off to have this service and was told the cost would be around $195. I asked if that included oil n filter and was told that it did. Since I changed my oil and rear drive last week, it should be even cheaper.

Not sure what year your bike is, butt here is a checklist for LT maintenance up 'til model year the ABS units changed.

Dave, Here is what they did to my 02 2 weeks ago at 18,000
1. Reading of fault code memories with BMW Motorad diagnostic system
2. Performed bleed test with BMW Motorad diagnostic system
3. Engine oil change with filter
4. Check front brake pads
5. Check front brake discs
6. Check brake fluid level in handlebar fitting
7. Check rear brake pads
8. Check rear brake discs
9. Check clutch operating fluid level
10. Check operation of side-stand switch
11. Lubricate side stand pivot mounts
12. Check center stand pivot mounts
13. Check steering damper
14. Check tire pressures and tread depth
15. Check lights and signalling equipment
16. Test ride
17. Confirm BMW service in on board documentation.
I have a pre paid maintenance package so I don't pay anything for regular maintenance but they always print out how much it would have cost. The service listed at $28.75 for parts and $160 for labor. Hope this helps.

The 18 K miles is not a big service. The 12/24/36 ...etc are!
The 18 K miles should just be an oil change and fluid checks, unless your bike is a few years old and needs radiator flush and clutch/brakes fluid change.
If it is just an oil change... well it seems you just did that.:bmw:
