I need to replace the battery on my 2001 K1200LT and need help on several issues. First, it had a panasonic lead-acid battery (not gel) and I was wondering if anyone knew the equivalent in a Yuasa or something else AND if they would work as well? I really don't want to switch to the gel as I already have a battery-tender (standard version). Any advice and battery numbers (for equivalents) so I can order the correct battery? Thanks

I use a odyssey PC680 dry cell. You'll find quite a few members use them with good results.

Thanks for the quick reply. The one I found new on EBAY says it has "Auto" posts? do you know if this is OK? Also, is a regulare charger compatible with this type of "dry cell" battery?

No, you don't want auto posts. Look around for one, you should pay around 60-70 bucks for one...unless they have gone up drastically.

Here you go: http://www.ebatteriestogo.com/landing_pages/powersport/UB22-12N.htm
I've got 2 of them (the Universal) and they fit nicely in the LT and have more oomph than the OEM.

try here http://www.ajusa.com/cgi-bin/odyssey/start?tid=google-odyssey.
They have free shipping for about ninety bucks.
By the way, you may want to fill out your profile for this site, especially if you are a member of the clergy :) !

is another source for the Panasonic AGM batteries. DigiKey is out of stock till 9/18/2006.
Get the LC-X1220P and just replace it every 4 years.
