Been reading some of the noise problems with comm systems and have not run across what is happening to mine.
My problem= intermittent buzz with autocomm, radio, tape and CD player. Occurs thru speakers and headsets.(sounds like a blown speaker would sound on home stereo) Seems to happen more at lower speeds.

What triggers it= bump in road, front brake engagement, clutch engagement, occasional rear brake engagement, occasional electric windscreen movement, sometimes spontaneously occurs.

What temporarily cures it= If I turn the sound system off for a few minutes the buzzing sometimes goes away. Sometimes it goes away in a few minutes on its own.

Before I start just ripping things apart, I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to start. BTW, I am an electronics moron, so if possible please keep things as elemental as you can. Thanks......

Sounds like a loose and/or corroded wire to either one of the battery terminals and/or the alternator. I'd start by cleaning and checking/tightening those. The next thing to check would be the power supply to the Autocomm

If the problem persists after that, I'd disassemble the rear speaker twist lock connector, clean it and put some di-electric grease on it and reassemble.

If the problem is still there, I'd pull the plastic on both sides and the top of the bike and clean and grease all connectors including the ones on the radio.
