Guru's. I have a 99' KLT and brake fluid is dripping from between where the calipers is bolted to the L fork. Is the caliper hollow (filled w/bf) all the way to where the bolt threads? I'ts a slow leak, but a leak none the less. Talk to me!
TIA, Pete

Are you sure it is not fork oil from a lazy fork tube seal. Wipe the fork tube/rod off by reaching up to the seal area, and tie-wrap a paper towel just below the top of the fork tube. The fork tube leak could be intermittent and paper towel will keep it off the caliper. The brake calipers are not known to leak when only 7 years old. Do you see a brake fluid level change?

Yes it's definetly the brakes as when I pull the lever in I can see it leak from inbetween the fork and caliper. Any idea? Does the rebuild kit cover this?

Is the pad or rotor wet on or near that caliper? As far as I know the caliper is a chamber that has a pressure line in and a bleeder valve. As the fluid is pumped into the chamber it pushes out the pistons (on both sides) that press on the disk pad. If there is a leak it most likely is in the area of the pistons and probably should be visible on top of the pad.
I'm assuming that you are adding brake fluid to the reservoir? I also assume that you can't hold a pressure on the front brake lever. The lever is slowly collapsing to the grip... Since the LT doesn't have a conventional front suspension the only oil that should be at or near the caliper is brake fluid.
