Engine Whine Noise Heard thru com system

I have the '02 LTE with the BMW com system, BC3. When starting the bike, I hear engine/alternator noise. When the bike is running, I also hear an engine whine.

I hear there is some inline filter that can correct this? If so, any suggestions out there? Also, where does the filter go?

I had the same problem. Go to Radio Shack and get a line noise supressor (I don't recall the exact term or part number) and install it in the positive power lead to the comm system. Noise is gone.

Is this a magnet, aka choke?

If so, I tried it last night. No improvement.

No. They have several, one looks like a small transformer. The one I have is a black plastic module that goes in series with the power lead for the comm system. I'll get the info off the unit and get back to you.
