Question about updates

Is Garmin's WebUpdater, http://www.garmin.com/support/download.jsp ok to use on the Navigator II?
I remember reading on BMW's Motorrad site for navigation, http://www.bmw-motorrad.com/com/en/index.html that only BMW updates should be installed.

Does anyone know whether or not it is ok to download from this Garmin update site without interfering with the BMW info that is loaded in the Navigator II?

I don't own one and don't have first hand experience,

But If I recall, (Don't hold me to this), I heard that the update will work, but you will lose the BMW specific info (Dealer POI).

Hope that was vague enough.

Not true, I have downloaded and updated W/O losing my BMW Dealer information go'to's.

Works perfect. I use the updater on my 2610's and NavII. Do not forget to sign up for Garmin's 'email notification' service on thier support site. This way you will recieve an email anytime updates are posted.

:confused: Anyway to get the BMW info loaded onto a 276C GPS unit ?

The updater only effects the operating system firmware and does NOT effect the POI and Waypoint database.


Don't forget to backup your WP's periodically to your PC/Mapsource application.

Here is the dealer file I used for my Garmin

This last mapsource "BMW" referanced map is for automotive dealers :(

The other link needs a special licence to download ... bummer
