That was one of the coolest videos I've seen posted in quite some time. Bravo!

(See! I can enjoy watching a cage once in awhile. Especially if it's the open-wheeled variety.) :)

I knew you could. ;)

Lots of folks don't have any real comprehension of how incredibly fast F1 cars are, and that video drives the point home very well.

Here's a quiz: What does a F1 car do the best? (answer below)

Stop. F1 cars can generate ~5 G's on deceleration.

Years ago I worked on a commerciall for Tag Heuer and we had Michael Shoemaker on the big track at Willow Springs. Not enough track for that car, but amazing to watch. We had a lear jet circling above and it would come down just a few feet over the F-1 car on the straight away. There was a helicopter filming it from above and multiple cameras on the track. Awesome. We spent the whole day as those two went round and round to get the timing just right. The F-1 had to be doing 220 + on the straight and then came to a near halt before the corner in the blink of an eye. Over and over and over.

I have to see if I can find a copy of it. I'll post it if I do. Incredible.

Lots of such info here..... Click (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formula_One_cars)

Years ago (before they were outlawed) the turbocharged 1.5 liter qualifying engines were producing an estimated 1100 HP, and the race engines ~1000.

Remember the Renault LeCar? Renault was putting that engine (only slightly detuned) into the Group B rally version of the LeCar. Until they outlawed the entire class....

Modern F1 0-60 in 1.9 seconds
Group B Rally car 0-60 in 2.3 seconds....on gravel.

AHHH, the good ol' days.
