Hello guru's of LT world!
I just got some headsets, and would like to know how to ad the moblie phone to the system. I have the stanard (factory) intercom system for a 2002 model.
My understanding is a male - male 2.5 mm plug? Which hole does it go in?
(man, I am setting my self up there! )
Thanks!

Yep, it is a set up. No one who has experience with a 2.5 MM Male plug is likely to admit it. :D :D :D

If your bike is a LTE it will have the J&M built CommSystem. It is located in the oddiments box above the CD slot and only has 1 ea 2.5 mm jack on it. The other jack on it is a 3.5 mm and is for aux audio in. The cable that fits most cell phones has a 2.5 mm plug on each end. You can make one of these from radio shack parts.

You will need a 2.5mm stereo jack on both sides (male to male).
What phone will you be using? Who is your carrier?
Be prepared, you may hear much distortion if using a GSM carrier.

Yes you can plug your ipod into the 3.5 mm jack....you will have to scroll through the options on the radio and choose aux to hear it. The volume control then must also be used on the Ipod unlike the radio volume on the handlebar.

Thanks Ron, just got back from Radio Shack!
Now I need to charge up the iPod, and see if it works!
Where might I find a 2.5 to 2.5 (or is it 1.5mm?) male/male plug for the phone? I have Sprint as my carrier.

Here is a link to the 2.5 mm which is 3/32" plugs that you can get at RadioShack. Two of these and whatever length wire you need will make you the cable for most cell phones. Nokia has a different connector as well as a couple others. Look at your phone and see that it takes a single pin 3/32" headset connector and you will be good to go. If you don't solder, perhaps you can get someone at RadioShack to make up the cord for you.
