Some ideas simply don't get enough traction and the 5X5 Northwest Poker Run was one of them. While several of us will be taking a weeklong roadtrip together that week, the 5x5 has been "officially" put on the shelf. Thanks to the many for their encouragement but financial reality versus commitment level makes this the appropriate decision.

See you on the highway!

Bob;
Thanks so much for what must have been days/weeks of effort to gather and document everything.

If not for a work schedule that I can not change, I was looking forward to the event. I am still trying to be back early enough in the week to try and catch you and the group on the back side of the ride (too early to tell).

Thanks again
Mark

Mark,

I appreciate your kind words. It's nice to know there were riders out there at least thinking about it. I realize not everyone has the time and resources to do everything that's offered over the year. We're looking forward to our abridged couples ride just the same. ;)

Hey Bob ...sorry to hear that ur ride (trip) is not going to happen,it sounded like it would of been a blast. Dont give up ...keep it in the works and some day make it happen !. I sure would of made it if I didnt have my summer time all tied up. I am still leaving for Euro on the 3rd of August due to Stephanie's work. I was planning on leaving this week (13th) ....sooo there goes more of my summer time.

Hi Bob,

Sorry to hear about the cancellation of the 5x5. I'd just got the OK from the boss (home-type, you know - the important one) this last week. Was really looking forward to it, too.

Also appreciate all your efforts in trying to organize it all.

Hey John,

It's my pleasure to organize rides for the site but not everything takes hold. A good number of riders have gone solo on GS machines these days and it does change the dynamic a bit. Rest assured there are still plenty of riders out there ready to run the tarmac with their favorite pillion! ;)

Although it's not officially posted, there are four couples doing a "Fall BMW Ride" that same week in September utilizing several of the same venues but returning down the Oregon coast. You're welcome to join us. Send me a PM if you or anyone else is interested and I'll send you the particulars. The more the merrier!
